Leading medical device company part of a larger group and with a history stretching back more than 20 years. Operating from a state of the art manufacturing premises in the Cardiff area. Company supply international markets and have ambitious growth plans for the years ahead.
Salary: c£40,000 depending on experience
The Role: Supply Chain Manager / Purchasing Manager
Managing the supply chain function across three facilities. Supply Chain Manager / Purchasing Manager duties to include:-
Develop infrastructure of the supply chain from raw material planning through to supply of finished goods in line with business objectives and quality standards.
Through a proactive and positive approach ensure the supplier and sub-contract manufacturing base is managed with a quality driven but price competitive approach
Develop and implement a system, in line with internal stakeholders, to ensure that the required stocks of raw materials, part and finished goods are available for the manufacturing unit to correctly and timely plan for customer needs.
Work in partnership with key suppliers and sub contract manufacturers to support the business in having a cost effective, quality driven supplies of key goods, materials and services to ensure consistent stock holdings of company goods
Implement changes to working practices as required to improve supply chain KPI attainment.
Support the product development team in sourcing new suppliers, manufacturers or specialist services as required for effective new product realization
The Candidate:Supply Chain Manager / Purchasing Manager
Must have a strong supply chain management background with a purchasing / procurement bias.
Experience in either medical, pharma or clean room environments is preferred.
Must have proven negotiation and supplier management experience.
Must be willing to travel to the companies facility in the north east on a regular basis.
