CWI/UT Level II – Quality Control Inspector – Welding (Indiana)Description:
The Quality Control Inspector will perform quality inspections on poles and other structural components in accordance with customer specifications, Nello specifications and nationally recognized standards.Qualifications:
American Welding Society Certified Weld Inspector in good standing is required.
ASNT Level II qualification in Ultrasonic Testing (SNT.TC.1A) experience required.
High School education or GED required. Associates degree preferred.
Two (2) years of experience in welding or inspection in a manufacturing facility required.
Inspect layout and weld quality on production. Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and make or order necessary process or assembly adjustments. Perform visual weld inspections and dimensional inspections and interpreting and evaluating the results of these inspections. Serve as the Certified Weld Inspector for the facility responsible for the prequalification and qualification of welders, maintaining welder qualification records, creating/maintaining weld procedures and weld qualifications as required. Perform/coordinate Ultrasonic Testing inspection. Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommend necessary corrective actions. Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems. Mark items with details such as grade or acceptance-rejection status. Knowledgeable in welding fabrication processes. Ability to read and interpret production drawings, specifications, and codes. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to troubleshoot and make continuous improvements; apply engineering principals to analyze and evaluate data. Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision. Acceptable prior performance, safety, and attendance record.
